What's on from late October to 7 November

Eight dates at the estates we list: gardens opening, afternoon tea, a Friday sundowner, live music in a cellar and a day of Cap Classique on 7 November.

This week and the weekend

The private farm garden at Tokara opens on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, from 10:00 to 17:00. It opens again on 30 and 31 October. Booking is through the garden's own site.

On Saturday 24 October, Morgenhof holds an evening of painting, wine and music in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The estate has not published a start time or a price, so ask before you go.

Lanzerac serves afternoon tea in Manor Kitchen on Saturday 24 and 31 October, from 14:00 to 17:00. It is R460 per person, with a Six Dogs Gin cocktail or bottomless Cap Classique. On Sunday 25 October and 1 November there is a four course lunch from 12:00 to 15:00, at R590 per person. Reservations are essential for both.

The weekend of 30 October

Rustenberg opens its manor house garden from 30 October to 1 November, 09:00 to 16:30. It is R50 per person, paid at the gate, and children under 10 are free. No booking needed.

On Friday 30 October, Simonsig is open until 20:00 for its Simomo Sundowners at Vonkel. Spots fill up, so book.

The same evening, Muratie has RAAF playing live in the cellar. Doors open at 18:00 and the show starts at 19:30. It is R295, which includes a glass of wine, and you can order from the Farm Kitchen menu before the show.

Simonsig's Cap Classique Affair starts at 11:00. The estate pours its own Cap Classique alongside a selection from other South African producers, with live music and food through the day. Booking is on the estate's site.
