Chenin Blanc is the focus, tasted in the Wine Lounge on the slopes of the Helderberg, with food pairings on offer. Ken and Teresa Forrester bought the farm at auction in the early nineties along with two old Chenin vineyards, and the FMC, made with Martin Meinert, is the flagship.

The stories behind what you will taste here.
Grape
Chenin Blanc
For three centuries South Africans called it Steen, until a Stellenbosch professor showed in 1963 that it was the Loire's Chenin Blanc.
Grape
Pinotage
Pinotage was bred at Stellenbosch University in 1925, and its first four seedlings were nearly lost in a garden clean-up.
Area
The Helderberg
The Helderberg is not an official ward, so its wines say Stellenbosch on the label. The sea breeze from False Bay is its signature.
